Collection's title
Born in Athens in 1923 or 1925. He studied architecture at the National Technical University in Athens (1946-1948). He received a Fulbright grant to pursue postgraduate studies at Columbia University in New York (1952-1953). Sponsored by the British Council, he went on to study painting and set design at the Slade School of Fine Arts, University College London (1953-1955). He died in London in 2001. He received the Order of the British Empire (1984) for his overall contribution to the Fine Arts. In 1999 he was elected member of the Academy of Athens. In 2000, he received the Menander Prize for 1998-2000 from the Centre for the Study of Greek Theatre/Theatre Museum.
