Lykourgos Kogevinas: Engraver and Painter
A bilingual monograph with colour illustrations and texts based on original research on the life and art of the Corfu artist Lykourgos Kogevinas (1887–1940), whose work marks the beginning of modern Greek printmaking. The book accompanied an exhibition at the E. Averoff Art Gallery. Essays by the exhibition curators, Aphrodite Kouria (painting) and Irene Orati (printmaking); also texts by Dimitris Pavlopoulos and Aris Rapidis. Colour reproductions of 150 oil paintings and engravings by the artist, extensive biography, photographic documentation, list of exhibitions, and a bibliographical appendix.
