"New Acquisitions"

Exhibition of forty works by old and contemporary Greek artists, such as Pantazis, Lantsas, Zairis, Vyzantios, Nikolaou, Kontopoulos, Spyropoulos, Chrisohoidou, Moralis, Hatzikyriakos-Ghikas, which enrich the collection of E. Averoff Art Gallery and extend its chronological limits.

The works presented in the exhibition, which was inaugurated in Averoff Museum in July 1994, were collected with primary aim to achieve the historical continuity of the collection – up to the period between the two World Wars – and with the parallel aim of starting to include in the collection works of younger artists in order to show the contemporary trends in Greek art.
