Born in Alexandria in 1917. He first studied law and political science at the University of Athens and then studied painting, with the painter George Gounaropoulos, before going on to study at the Slade Art School in London. He first appeared as a stage designer with Karolos Koun’s Theatro Technis in Athens. In this capacity and as a costume designer he collaborated with theatre companies and organisations in Greece and other
countries. He also practices painting and engraving. His goal as a set designer is for his designs not to detract attention from the actors but to convey the playwright's idea and director's intentions. His artworks focus on the expressiveness of gesture. He paints landscapes and objects in an abstract style.
