(Athens 1905 - Athens 1976)
Nikolaos Magiasis is one of the students at the Athens School of Fine Arts who studied under Georgios Iakovidis, Dimitris Geraniotis and Spyros Vikatos and who, despite their rigorous academic training, developed an impressionist-influenced realism manifested primarily in their landscapes.
He delved into portraiture, but mainly painted seascapes and landscapes, imbuing his subjects with an impressionistic tone and presenting his works in solo and group exhibitions. He also engaged in religious art.

Description
Still Life with Fish brings out, apart from the Magiasis's capabilities in design and painting, an attempt to distance himself from the classical structure of such a traditional composition as a still life by creating an impression in the background formed by the colour reflections of the grey and red of the fish.
