Hamlet, 2000
Stefanos Rokos was born in Athens. From 1995 to 2000, he studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts under Triantafyllos Patraskidis. He also attended classes in printmaking at Giorgos Milios’ studio. In 2002, he earned a post-graduate diploma in printmaking from the Wimbledon School of Art in London, where he studied on a scholarship from the Propondis Foundation. From 2005 to 2007, he was awarded a two-year fellowship by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) to carry out his artistic work.
He has taken part in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. In 2010, he presented the music/visual art project “Horror & Romance on Another Planet”, a musical collection released in 1,700 numbered copies with 18 original songs composed by Greek and foreign musicians as inspired by his solo exhibition of the same name (www.horrorandromance.com). He has designed album covers for Pavlos Pavlidis, Piney Gir, Bobby Conn, Krista Muir, Interstellar Overdrive, Sigmatropic, Foivos Delivorias and Christos Leontis, as well as book covers and posters for concerts, theatre productions and films.
