He studied engraving and painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1952-1958) under Yannis Moralis and Yannis Kefallinos. On a Greek state scholarship, he went on to study at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts in Paris (1962-1966), woodcutting under R. Cami and lithography under E. Clairin. He also specialised in the art of book printing at L΄école Estienne. His work, both in painting and engraving, mainly features
landscapes and quotidian scenes, rendered in a realistic style, with special emphasis on the role of light and colour. He has also produced works that fall under abstract expressionism and geometric abstraction, and has experimented with various combinations of mediums.
