Romanidis studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts at the beginning of the first decade of the twentieth century, under Nikiphoros Lytras, Constantinos Volanakis, and Georgios Roïlos, when academic teaching was still characteristic of the School. It would seem, however, that a definitive role in his training as an artist was played by Volanakis in terms of subject-matter and Roïlos in terms of style. Throughout his career as an artist he concerned himself almost exclusively with landscape, more so with seascape, and particularly with the depiction of landscapes by the sea, in which he employed stylistic forms and features of impressionist plein air painting.
