He then settled in Paris, to paint, make prints and work as a scenery-painter.

Description
In White Bouquet, the flowers stand out from the vase, pure white against the deep yellow background, while at the back, another vase of flowers can just be made out. The paging of the subject with the truncated vase and the view of the table on which the vase stands from above, as well as the dominance of the white flowers as a mass throughout the width of the work bear witness to a familiarity with contemporary methods of composition.
